PNG: I use pngs when making projects on photoshop and they are extremely useful as it provides a transparent background  WAV: I use this in music as this provides the highest quality sound when exported from softwares. This also largely increases the space the file uses Mp3: This is the basic file format that is used when providing projects that require sound and that is the format it usually plays in across all platforms. It is lower quality and significantly smaller than a wav file Jpeg: This is the file that is used for most pictures and does not provide a transparent option. This is the basic picture format across all platforms Mp4: This is an audio visual format that is used for projects such videos and movies. This is the format these are usually exported in Gif: a gif is a 7 second clip that is meant to loop and repeat itself and I use this in the background of my music instead of just keeping a standstill background for it. I often link my digital media work to my musical work and these are album and song covers that I have created independently in correlation to my music with what I have learned on photoshop. These are the types of projects that I would put into my main portfolio. I work with Jpegs and i often use square images when i create these album cover templates.  The other edits are edits that I made of my friends in which I linked them to the colour that I portrayed them to be associated with.

The main purpose of a portfolio is to present a body of projects to display so people can learn abou your work in an organised space. Why do I need a personal media profile? A personal media profile will be important as hiring companies will be searching for your name prior to meetings. This highers your chances of earning opportunities to represent various multimedia companies. This also allows people that are searching for you to know how you make your media projects unique to you and what differentiates you from the others. Not having a personal media profile could come off and be portrayed as if you have something to hide. The profile is also a huge factor when it comes to building a personal or professional brand.
